Alan was at a training for work in Boston the month of July. I went to visit him the weekend of July 20th (Friday - Monday). The kids stayed with some friends from church (the Daniels and Johnsons). I was feeling pretty punk with morning sickness, but all-in-all it was a wonderful trip and so good to see Alan. Boston really was a beautiful place - I would love to live near the bay (just not in Boston). Friday night we went to dinner at a seafood restaurant called Legal Seafood, so YUM! Our friends, the Cannons, have an apartment in Boston (Hingham Shipyard) that they let us stay at. It was really relaxing that night, but the next day all the walking began....
This was a big bridge we walked over while following the Freedom trail. Our First stop was the USS Constitution.
I thought it was amazing all the ropes they use on the ship - I'd get pretty darn confused!
Why is it that I try to think of a fun pose but it never quite turns out how I imagine?!!
Next stop was Bunker Hill
This is the Old North Church
These are dog tags for Americans who have lost their lives in the war. I thought it was so artistic and touching I had to take a picture of it!
Riding out to Spectacle Island
We found out there wasn't much to do on the island so we just sat here in these two chairs and waited for our next boat back to Boston. But we did find a funny surprise on our camera. The kids were taking pictures again and this one was of Porter showing us the bird finger with a little smirk! We laughed so hard I almost cried!
Ate at Cheers for dinner Saturday night. I loved this tv show as a kid - and this actually ended up being my favorite place to get a burger!
For lunch the next day we ate at a place called Dicks. Its kinda fun because they are sarcastic and act rude. Making some people wear hats that say something embarrasing and funny.
Sunday we finished the Freedom Trail
Our very first canoles from Mikes Bakery!
