Christmas and the Month of December

Someone from Alans work gave him two tickets to the Nutcracker at the Fox Theatre and we gave them to Kalin on her birthday for her and I to go.  She loved it and thought the whole place was beautiful and fancy!

Seven Sweet Years!

Happy Birthday to Kalin!!!  On her birthday we went out to dinner (La Parilla) as a family to celebrate and then had a party on the weekend.  It was a family party and Kalin wanted it to be decorated with pink and pandas.  She got an outfit for her American Doll (Sophie) and Alan and I made a bed for her as well.  Kalin is such a joy to be around!  She is very kind-hearted and thoughtful.  She loves everything about life and especially likes to write songs and sing.  Kalin also enjoys making things for others (mostly drawings and sweet little notes).

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving dinner we went over to Scott and Pam Frosts with the Mills.  Porter made his pilgrim hat and shirt at school so we made one for Kalin too!  Cute little pilgrims!

Baby Shower!

My friends Audrey Zohner and Sharon Kime threw a baby shower for me November 10th.  Audrey  made so many cute things...crocheted baby booties, a diaper motorcycle, and decorations.  I made them these cute jars with their initials on them and the little goodie bags with chocolate covered pretzels to take home.  I love how they turned out!  Friends who came: Becca Fowler, Pam Frost, Sharon Danneman, Valerie Bleak, Jenny Moore, Heather Harmon, Jamie Beatty, Becca Buffington, Dian Carter, Audrey Zohner, Sharon Kime, Heather Farrar, and Cindy Hopper.

This is what daylight savings does!!

The time change really knocked Kalin and Porter out!  We were having a movie night and they fell asleep almost instantly - not very common for these two!  Even the dog was passed out!

Kalins Soccer Tournament

Kalins last soccer game of the season.  They played 2 or 3 teams and each were a year older so it really wasn't a fair advantage, but the girls put up a good fight!  Way to go Purple Machines!!

Friends Visit

During the last weekend in October, I had one of the best visits ever!  My friends, Chelsie Irish and Kristi Thompson from High School, came to stay with me a couple nights.  Chels had a seminar for work so they thought they'd make a trip of it.  I wish they could have stayed longer!  First we visited the Martin Luther King sites, which I haven't done since we've lived here, but so glad we did.  What an inspiring man!  His quote (one of my favorites) from the picture below says "Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or the darkness of selfishness.  This is the judgement.  Life's most persistent and urgent question is what are you doing for others."  I love that - the best people I know are those who walk in endless service to others.  Both Chels and Kristi had heard they need to go to the varsity for lunch, so that we did!  It was my first time too, and I loved it!  We went to the Georgia Aquarium then stopped at the Coca-Cola shop to buy a few souveneirs.  I'm so glad that I got to spend at least one full day with a couple of my favorite people!
